The Sun

Except that you already know that the Sun is far from being "silent!"  (Be sure to take the virtual tour if you don't!)  The Sun is obviously an extremely important part of our existence, responsible for giving Earth light and heat.  But there is actually a lot more going on in and around the Sun than you might think!  In this section of our web site, you will find a good overview of the Sun and the many things that it does.  The best way to understand the Sun is to explain its different layers, so below you will find a link to all of the parts of the Sun.  Like the rest of the site, click on the less detail link at the bottom of the pages if you find that it gets a little too difficult.
