The Solar and Heliospheric
Research Group has been part of the University
of Michigan since 1993. The elements of space that we concentrate
on in our research are mainly the Sun, solar
wind, gases and plasmas.
Most importantly, we focus on the Sun-Earth connection, in order to understand
how the Sun and the Earth interact with each other, and to be able to make predictions
about how life on Earth will be affected by the happenings of the Sun.
The tour will involve things such as explanations of magnetic fields, the workings of the Sun, and the instruments used to collect data. Any term you find with a link will take you to a definition of the word from the glossary page.
